SAMPLES FROM THE BOOK

PROVERBS 10:32

"The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse."

As a person arranges books, suitcases, and stuff to maximize space on the shelves, so the righteous knows how to arrange fitting words to make the most of a situation. Both take art.

PROVERBS 11:13

"A gossip betrays confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret."

This padlock represents the gossip. When a person shares a secret, he or she believes it secure because the locking mechanism is in place. But the secret leaks out from the gossip's severed shackle, betraying the sharer's confidence.

PROVERBS 10:8

"The wise in heart accepts commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin."

The chatter of a fool is like the noise that comes from a boombox. Both the fool and the boombox don't listen, and yet they produce sounds that rattle on. Like the sound of a boombox turned all the way up, the volume from a fool's mouth can overwhelm a person. It becomes deafening and ineffective.
